Tourist location in Arlington, Virginia?

Arlington Cemetery

Arlington Cemetery is one of Arlington’s most famous and sacred grounds in the entire state of Virginia. It is a cemetery for the United States military servicemen who have lost their lives in the service of their country.

639 acres of fallen soldiers fill these hallowed grounds. The cemetery is one of the most beautiful yet unsettling things that the human eyes have ever seen. These men and women that are buried there have died, but that is why the cemetery was built in the first place. To honor them for their sacrifice.

The cemetery was established during the Civil War and has continuously been in use, even with today's fallen servicemen and women. They are honored by their family, fellow service members, and ceremonies so that what they lost their lives for is never forgotten.

Even though the area can be heartbreaking, touring the cemetery is something that every tourist and resident alike should do while they are visiting Arlington. Not only to honor these men and women but to see all the history that American wars have given us.

Taking in all the feelings and emotions is something that can’t really be described. You need to visit the cemetery and feel everything for yourself.

Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial is one of America’s most famous monuments or landmarks. You can spot the memorial by seeing the giant statue of Abraham Lincoln (16th President of the United States) while he is sitting in a chair. The memorial was built between 1914 and 1922 to honor President Lincoln.

He ended slavery in the United States and did many more acts to ern himself the memorial. It is something everyone needs to see in person at least once.

Not every President gets a monument. Especially, not one that is over 70 feet tall like the Abraham Lincoln Memorial! If you want to see President Lincoln’s achievements being immortalized, see the memorial for yourself.

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a statue/memorial that is honoring Thomas Jefferson (third president of the United States). The memorial was built for him because President Roosevelt believed that it would be a good way to honor one of the founding fathers.

The monument was built between 1939 and 1943. A bronze statue was added later on in 1947 and the monument has stood tall ever since.

If you want to see the monument for yourself, tour the area of Arlington and see it yourself. Monuments like these need to be seen with your own eyes because pictures don’t do them justice.
